Your records
Body Tracker does not require an account, and we do not know who you are. Everything you enter is stored in the app on your device. We have no server that holds your records, and we cannot see them.
Deleting the app deletes the data stored in it on that device. Keep a backup of your device if you want to be able to restore your records.
iCloud sync
Body Tracker syncs your records across your devices through Apple's iCloud — specifically CloudKit, in your private iCloud database. That database belongs to your Apple Account; we have no access to it. Sync follows your iCloud settings: turn off iCloud for the app in Settings and it stays on the device only.
To remove synced data, delete it in the app or in Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.
Apple Health
If you choose to connect Body Tracker to Apple Health (HealthKit), it only gets access to the health data types you allow, and you can change that at any time in the Health app. Health data read from HealthKit is used solely within the app on your device. It is never sent to our analytics or crash-reporting services, never used for advertising, and never transferred to a third party. Data the app writes to Apple Health — such as a weight you log — stays in Apple Health under your control.
Progress photos
Progress photos you take with the camera or import from your photo library stay in the app on your device. They are not uploaded to us or to any service — with one exception: a single photo you explicitly choose for an AI estimate, described under AI features. The app asks for camera or photo library permission only when you use those features, and you can change it in Settings.
AI features
Some features are powered by AI and only run when you ask for them. When you do, only the data needed for that result — for example one photo you choose, downsized — is sent over an encrypted connection to our server, which forwards it to an AI provider (OpenAI) to produce the result. Because there are no accounts, this data is not linked to your identity.
Our server does not keep a database of your data: it checks that the request comes from the genuine app, applies rate limiting, and may cache a generated response for a short time for performance reasons. Photos are deleted once the result is returned. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not use it to train AI models.
Purchases (RevenueCat)
Body Tracker uses RevenueCat to manage purchases and check which features you have unlocked. Payments themselves are processed by Apple; we never see your payment details. RevenueCat processes your purchase history, an anonymous app user ID and basic device information. For details, see the RevenueCat privacy policy.
Crash reports (Sentry)
We use Sentry to collect crash and error reports so we can find and fix bugs. A report contains technical information such as the device model, operating system version, app version and a stack trace showing what the app was doing when the problem occurred. Reports are not linked to your name or email address, and the SDK is configured not to attach your IP address. For details, see the Sentry privacy policy.
Usage analytics (TelemetryDeck)
We use the privacy-friendly analytics service TelemetryDeck (TelemetryDeck GmbH, Augsburg, Germany) to understand which features are used, so we can decide what to improve and build next. The data includes an anonymized identifier per app installation, basic in-app events (for example "app launched" or "screen opened"), and device metadata such as device type, operating system version and app version.
Identifiers are hashed and salted so that neither we nor TelemetryDeck can trace them back to you. No IP addresses are stored, no cookies or tracking technologies are used, and the data is processed on servers in the European Union.
Security
We use commercially reasonable means to protect your information, such as encrypted connections for everything sent over the internet. No method of transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Because the app has no accounts, we hold no personal data we could link to you. Data processed by the services above is anonymous or pseudonymous. If you have contacted us by email or through this website, you can ask us to access, correct or delete what we hold about you, or object to how we use it. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority — in Norway, Datatilsynet.
Children's privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other websites
The app and this page may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we encourage you to read the privacy policy of every site you visit.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we post the new version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the app's release notes.
